There are many exciting things going on in Sunderland city centre at the moment and there is certainly a real buzz about the place. I have no doubt that the VAUX scheme will be a ‘marker in the sand’ for the city and help bring about significant investment and further development.
The Beam, which is the first office building, will be completed Spring 2018 and there is a great deal of work going on with regards to the other plots and conversations being had with interested parties.
I know that Siglion and their team are committed to making this a truly sustainable development and delivering buildings which will enhance the city in every way.
The architectural design of the office buildings will be of an exceptional standard and not look out place in any leading global city.
But for me the key point is that they will offer fantastic places to work. At every step of the way consideration is being given to the health, happiness and well-being of staff who will work at VAUX.
Companies are increasingly needing to compete to attract and retain talent, but creating excellent working environments for staff is where it all begins. Once you add the benefits of a city centre location such as ease of access to public transport, leisure and retail amenities, then you can see where VAUX will flourish.
At a time when city centre office development is limited, especially in the North, it’s great to see such a scheme happening on our door step
